Home Secretary David Blunkett was praised by Animal Rights Supporters yesterday following an incident with his guide dog.
Blunkett had just arrived at his hotel and was being escorted to the lift by hotel management and his dog Lucy. A small crowd of conference delegates and reporters watched as Blunkett and Lucy entered the lift but were left open mouthed when Lucy suddenly deposited a copious amount of urine down the Home Secretary's leg and onto his shoe.
As the lift doors closed Blunkett was seen to put his hand in his pocket, pull out a biscuit and feed it to Lucy while he patted her head.
BBC Political Correspondent Andrew Marr said. "It was the most charitable action I have ever seen by a British politician."
When asked for a response later Blunkett commented: "Charitable? I don't think so, I was just finding her head so I could kick her arse."
