Was watching Strictly Come Dancing 'It takes two' the other night (now there's a confession) and 'celeb' contestant Chris Hollins was sounding off about his family, mentioning his dad John (Chelsea legend) and his Uncle Dave.

This was the same Dave Hollins who I just about remember as a kid was Albion keeper in the late 50s - he succeeded the great Eric Gill I believe and subsequently signed for Newcastle, playing a few times for Wales as well.
I can't remember much about him - and was wondering if anyone out there recalls him - and where he would stand in the pecking order of BHA goalkeeping greats. My view is that the best of the lot was Peter Grummitt.
Agreed?

Dave Hollins married my cousin actually. He's a top bloke, he used to go in goal up Queens park between 2 jumpers so that me and my mates from school could try and score against him. Happy days.

He played against Brazil for Wales and then went on to painting and decorating when he finished playing football and is now retired know and lives in Guildford.

I would have to agree about Grummit though.

so what relation is Victoria Holllins, who resents for BBC London
