cycling/walking from Woodingdean

a mate of mine was (allegedly) told that it would be impossible for a cycle lane or pavement to be built on the Falmer Road because it did not have street lights. I ask this as the cycle lane constructed in the last few years between Roedean and Rottingdean is mostly in the dark at night. I don't know if this is within your remit but someone might be able to shed some light* on it. Cheers

Any footpath/cyclepath along that road would be the responsibility of East Sussex County Council and in the future the South Downs National Park Authority. There would be a major issue with lighting because the various protectors of the Downs would object particulalry as the area will soon be in the National Park.

thanks for answering, but i'd like to clarify it was a cycle path I was hoping for, not more street lighting, i can provide my own light - Cheers
