Not one version of this franchise has qualified for a European Competition… 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Can we stop the 'Ever seen Palace in Milan' song ?

The Anglo-Italian was still a competitive trophy trophy and they were the first ever English team to win at the San Siro...

Our resident song writers could do with consulting the old farts of NSC or, at the very minimum, a search engine.

Slightly O/T but watching an old episode of Desmonds this morning, they read from a copy of The Sun which had the headline "Palace in £1m bid for Shilton".

Must have been filmed towards the end of 1989 when Shilton would have been 39 or 40 years old and playing for Derby.

I don't remember this but back then, paying £1m for a 40 year old keeper would seem ridiculous, even for Palace.

Apparently that honour goes to Birmingham City 10 years previously. More made up nonsense from the Croydon mob

Definitely not true, they were 10 years too late for that claim to fame

Edit - as pointed out in the post above.👍

Palace have never qualified for Europe.

End of.

(Don’t care about all the “but if English clubs not been banned from Europe…” File under “But if my auntie had…”)
When Palace finished 3rd in 1991 there was no ban. So it’s an argument they can’t hide behind anyway.

Wow, I forgot it was so much smaller. Of course the so called champions league has distorted everything.
The 1990-91 season we actually ended up with 2 teams qualifying for the Cup Winners Cup. Spurs won the FA Cup and Man Utd also qualified as they won the Cup Winners Cup so entered the following season as defending champions.

Pre the ban we did have more places in the UEFA cup, but they were lost when the ban was lifted, so I suppose Palace could technically grumble about that, but it’s clutching at straws.

So arguably they could blame Liverpool for that but, as we know, Liverpool are never to blame for anything and have only ever been wrongly blamed for things. There’s a debate to be had there one day ….

Liverpool could be blamed, but at the same time had there been no ban no one knows what could have happened. All we can state as a fact is that when Palace finished 3rd there was no ban preventing them from entering Europe which is what they like to claim.
