I know I should be going to Crewe, but.. Anybody been to Cropredy festival before? Any tips?

Grow a beard.
Learn to do that perculiar 'middle aged hippy not used to dancing' dance.
Buy some elasticated waisted trousers.
Eat lots of cheese.
Or go to Field Day Festival on Victoria Park, Laandon instead and come say hello.

It's full of middle class Englanders and wannabe hippies who don't have the balls to go to Glastonbury.

My parents attend every year and I was forced into it as a sprog.

If the weather's nice you'll have a good time, and this year Jools Holland is playing so there'll at least be one act worth seeing, amongst all the hand-knitted yoghurt wearing fiddlers.

It's not very big, the facilities are a cut above your average festival and the weather's nearly always nice.

As long as you like folk music you're bound to enjoy it.

It's always interesting to see the state of the aging members of Fairport too. I think last year Dave Pegg was wheeled out attached to some medical apparatus
