Must admit I thought we would struggle in the first test, but we are doing very well. Baring a 90's style colapse we are going to get at least a draw from this game and if we can put a big total on tomorrow Can see SA having trouble.

excellent day for england. first session tomorrow vital. if we reach their total with say 3-4 down then i reckon we can really put them under pressure. hate not being able to see it on terrestrial.

Excellent couple of days so far. If we can get 500 + , we can really put the pressure on and go full tilt for the record breaking 8 test wins in a row!

hope can take his score on to nearer 150-175 then with the strength in batting we appear to have could get us 500. they must see off ntini/pollocks first 12 overs i think. one or maybe two more wickets down by lunch would be ok if strike rate was good. heres hoping. at least now i dont take batting collapses for granted now. they will happen no doubt but not with the regularity we are so used too. good to see giles doing good at end of innings as well

299-4 at lunch. bit of a struggle this morning with 3 wkts going but "freddies" in on 18 so still chances of building a lead up

Looking a bit better with Freedie and Butcher - Butcher currently clubbing the ball around the park quite nicely.

394/9 now!

lead of 57 runs with us batting last = honours even in my book

test finely in the balance

tail giving it some wag

239/9

Jones the ball onto 24
GBH on 14

never quite sure how to feel about last wicket stands in these circumstances - obviously the runs are well apreciated but if these guys can rack up the runs surely the wicket must be reasonably benign

time will tell!

Harmison's hit a 6 BTW - he's starting to get the hang of this last man slogging malarkey

:clap2:

and with that, Jones the ball is OUT top edged Steyn

(we got 12 off of Pollocks last over)

425 all out, didn't quite get the 100 lead but overall (slight) advantage England

GAME ON - I can hear the pub calling for the last bit of play - just a matter of finding one that's showing PROPER sport and not just the millionairre's Sunday afternoon kickabout.
