Coppell haters - Happy now?

Obviously the lack of ground is always going to hinder our progress and will always be cited by lesser managers (Taylor) as the reason they can't succeed.

However, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the fact he's leaving is more to do with the complete f***ing ****s that we have amongst our 'support' that never get/got behind Coppell.

The poor bloke was always going to be on a hiding to nothing. Get promoted and he's done what was expected. Not go up and he's scum. Coppell knows this and he knows that, whatever success he achieves with us, he'll never get the adulation he deserves.

I can appreciate that some people have better memories of the 80s, when our rivalry with Palace was arguabley at it's most feverent.
Sometimes though you just have forget certain things, shut your mouth and get behind the manager of OUR team, Brighton & Hove Albion.

Think about it. If you don't support the manager then surely you don't support the team he's put out? No, of course that's not the case, which makes your case even more flawed.

I just hope the people that still refer to Coppell as scum and refuse to sing his name realise what we've lost. And if they don't now then they will in a few months' time when we're languishing mid-table in this f***ing village football division.

You've just f***ed our season, well done.

I am sure that this is not the reason safeway.

I have never heard anyone boo him at a match. The only person who doesn't like him is FG and did we really expect anything better from him?

No one booed Coppell at matches, people just said they did not like him and would not cheer him or sing his name. If he goes it's not down to them it's down to money and the uncertainty over Falmer

I have always liked and supported SC. However as you will see on the other SC thread I am fcking furious with him, we've again been dumped on from a very big height, and again its down to money, and stadium.

He always has had a good reception and always aknolewledges the crowd both in the program and at the end of games

The boy has got a point.

It sickened me the way people wouldnt sing his name.

He knew and we knew it. It was never gonna last.....

I get the feeling that some fans believe that they are bigger than the club and that the fans should be the major deciding factor in appointments.

Its all down to Falmer.
Until we get the nod and a timescale of when the ground will be built Managers will always be using us as a springboard to a better job.

Maybe now would be a good time to get more letters to Prescott-ask one more person to support the bid, get your old aunt to send one in or send one in for her.

Channel the anger into helping to make Falmer happen instead of letting it depress us.

Where did I say anyone booed him? Read my post again and you'll see that I quite clearly didn't say that.

I know of plenty of people that wouldn't get behind Coppell because of his 'tainted' past.
NSC has about 50 regular posters, tops. Withdean holds nearly 7,000 Albion fans every other week. Some people on here need to get their head out the f***ing sand and realise that NSC doesn't actually speak for Albion fans on any sort of level.

Footballball Genius aka twat wouldnt drop the point. He was well against Coppell. I raised this point safeway several weeks ago. I said if certain people didnt shut up then we might lose a quality manager. Look for my "Football Genius aka Twat thread".

Im well pissed of now. I doubt he's staying. He'll be off to the reading scum.

Thats ridiculous. Only true fans go on NSC and what is said on here is gospel.

Greetings from the jungle

Thought I'd drag this thread from the depths to give my comments from the other side of the world.

Last year before the season started and Hinshelwood was given the job, I was adamantly against Coppell taking over. Far too much of my time at Brighton games had been spent singing the Coppell VD song (which I imagine we could be hearing again not too soon, wonder how that will pan out amongst our crowd?), and it seemed a shame to spoil our rivalry with Palace - which is in many ways symbolic for most of us. I've only been to two Brighton Palace games, away last year, and a Simod Cup game (or whatever incantation was around then) and neither really lived up to the hype, but neverthless hating Palace is part of being a Brighton fan and signing Coppell when other equally good options seemed available felt like disregarding part of what it meant to be a Brighton fan. I'm sure that DK's decision not to appoint him then was swayed by fan mutterings about his Palace connections, and I am sure that the Board would consult this board. DK has always been one for listening to the fans and where better than NSC. It may have only 50 'regular' posters (out of over 1000 members) but that is a pretty large gathering of Albion opinions in one place. As such I an happy to partly blame myself for Brighton getting relegated last season as it seems clear that with Coppell in from the start we'd have been fine.

He's done an excellent job in my opinion. Having not been to Withdean since our last div 2 season I have no idea if SC gets barracked there or not, but can't believe he does. At the end of the day surely our doing well overrides anything else, especially a bit of childish banter about our rivals in south London???
