Coppell and loan players

Whenever Coppell is interviewed, he always seems to imply that he is "monitoring a number of situations" regarding loan players.

Anyone any ideas? Which clubs are most likely?

It's amazing how a lot of national "transfer news" is now taken up with who is favourite to sign a young player from a top club on loan - ie Kieran Richardson from Man U - supposedly the new Ryan Giggs - has got teams queuing up to borrow him - with Walsall - Walsall! - the favourites. I suppose SC blew his Man U connections when he went to Man City.

He was only at Man city for something like 30 days though!:lolol: I'm sure Manure are happier that he left them up :censored: creek!

I think there has been speculation with a couple of players - and they are the ones we know about. I'm sure SC has spoken to more players then we all know.

I would like to see us buy (hmmmm.....) or take on loan a couple of midfielders and another striker.

I think Coppell will only go for loan players he knows alot about. The exception would seem Leon Knight as he had not previously played under SC ( i don't recall). I reckon it is tough getting loan players as it now makes up 75% of the transfer market. I trust SC to make the right decisions and is doing his best.

I would rather save our loan signing for the end of the season when the games come thick & fast & we'll need a big squad. We're chugging along fine at the moment.

If an opportunity like signing LO from Sheff Weds comes along then we have to look at it, but otherwise I don't think there's any need

Good post.

It's a very hard balancing act at the moment with our cash situation and bringing in players needlessly is bad business. The team we have at the moment is easily top six if not better and i think a loan sining will only make a difference if the player brought in is quality.

Luckily we have a chairman who knows its not clever to be throwing to much money around at the moment coupled with a manager who is willing to work with what he is given.

On the back of todays Argus, Coppell says most clubs wont loan out unless players are going to gain experience and be guaranteed a place in the team which he says he cannot do.

Get yoir money out Dick.....Oh I am sorry you havn't got any have you.

We need strengthening now! not whan the end of the season comes and we are mid table.

And whilst we are at it, does the board really want us to get promotion again? I think not!

I sincerely hope Falmer is a YES or we are F*cked

Monday.

There is absolutely no point in charging out and signing the next available loanee that comes through on a fax as mentioned above.

We have a few injuries but we are doing well, if form dips badly and we start losing a few on the bounce fair enough.

We have had some right mares in recently - Kitson and Lee for a start and Butters has taken a year to show his true colours.

Exactly the point you are arguing against.

Until we get Falmer any investment in the playing side must be looked at very carefully.

Everyone knows that at the moment the club is getting bugger all income compared to other clubs so why should we be able to compete with them. Answer? We shouldn't but we are which is a tesament to Knight and the board so why the f*** should Dick get his money out, he shouldn't be told to bankroll this club by anybody so give it a f***ing rest and appreciate what the current board is doing for US.

Jesus christ.

Spot on Chappers, however I'm afraid you're banging your head against a brick wall.

Chappers, dont blaspheme. Its not big and its certainly not clever.

Everyone is entitled to her own opinion and this is mine.

I believe that Falmer will happen in the future, but you must balance the needs of tomorrow with the needs of today. We have been very fortunate in getting Leon Knight in on loan and then signing him full time and that is a testament to Sir Steve, however should we be looking to get promoted ( which I am of the opinion the board do not want) or at least consolidate, then we should be looking to strengthen a squad which at the moment looks thin in the area of miodfield and attack. If Knight gets injured then who have we to come in? ...erm..McPhee and henderson....really? We now find Roger is injury prone ( which Palace knew full well) and Piercy is certainly not the answer in Stevie's eyes or he would play him more. Danny has picked up a coupel of knocks and who is to replace him? watson at full back again and Hinch to centreback? I don't rate Pethick at all.

What really concerns me is the fact that we do not appear to be able to sign anyone on a permanent basis. Even Stevie admitted this in the Argus last week. I cannot ever in the many years I have watched the Albion been in this situation.

My comment about Falmer I think is valid. If there is no fall back, what then?

I can't even be arsed.

I COULDN'T REALLY GIVE A f*** ABOUT THIS SEASON'S PERFORMANCE, YES I WOULD LIKE US TO DO WELL BUT IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT THE ONLY RESULT THA MATTERS IS THE FALMER DECISION. I HOPE ALL OF YOU WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE RUNNING OF THE CLUB KISS DICK KNIGHT'S FEET WHEN THAT STADIUM GETS THE GO AHEAD.
