Consistency or ability?

What's more important for you in a player consistency or ability?

Interested to hear what people think.

That's what i think, consistency you build momentum with even if the players abilities aren't the greatest in the league.

I think in a squad you need players who are consistent ie Bridcutt, Greer etc and then those with extra ability like Lua Lua who can turn a game themselves

Well there has to be a bit of both. If they are consistent but have no ability, surely that means they're crap all the time?

Im thinking more on the lines of players who wont set the footballing world on fire but are good and consistent. Bridcutt would be a prime example.

I'd rather have a player with the ability and consistency of Bridcutt than one with the ability of Messi but rarely shows it.
