Concord First Day cover

Nothing to do with football...

My Dad was responsible for the fire-engines for Concords maiden flight from Bristol to RAF Fairford in Glos. He obtained two first day covers and got them stamped in Bristol and at fairford Post-offices on the date and time of the flight then posted it to Worthing where my brother and I were at school.They never arrived! (Ironically he didnt need to post them!)

The fact is that there are only two in the world-one with my name on it!

Any suggestion on how I might locate them?

Send a letter to the post office explaining what happened and they are sure to help.

Failing that, Ive got a spare one somewhere i can sell you for £40 ono. Bit dusty and the stamps a bit hard to make out, but other than that should be fine.

Funnily enough I saw that flight. We were coming home from Wales and my old man is interested in planes, and we watched the take-off. It was incredible to see.
