computer help!

sorry, i know these computer help things come up alot, but this is really starting to wind me up.

Im running firefox but it doesnt always load images, for example, i cant see all the 'smilies' or all the message icons, it does this on everysite with random pictures and tends to take a long time to load..ne clues? not a virus or adware or anything thats all been checked?

help would be much appriciated

P.S Is there anyway to connect a comp to the internet WITHOUT a USB Lead?

My bro has come across an acnient comp without a usb or anything really! And was wondering if it could be done?

Why would you need a USB cable to connect to the internet in the first place? Unless you've only got a USB modem, of course.

Depends how you connect to the Internet at the moment. If you use an ADSL modem, you probably can't connect this to an old PC. If you have a router, you can put a network card in the old PC and use that to access the net. You can get old ISA network cards for a pittance on EBay. But not too sure how much benefit you will have connecting a very old PC to the net. It won't like modern browsers much if it is really old and you might have trouble if you try using an old version of IE as modern sites won't work.
