There is a lot of talk about how year on year the game - especially in England, and especially in the Prem - becomes more and more money driven, yet:

"As it stands, by the way, we're looking at a four-year low total spend among Premier League clubs in a transfer window. Right now, transfers this summer have totalled around £320m - thanks in the main to Manchester City's £126m outlay - compared to £450m last year and the staggering £500m that was splashed out in 2008."

What's the reason?

What's the reason?

Chelsea are happy with their squad so don't need to spend big, Wenger is against buying players. Man Utd and Liverpool are in debt.
Players that Aston Villa, Tottenham, Everton, Fulham and the likes would want are far too heavily priced so they are developing average players that don't cost a bomb
