Believe it or not I can clear this up. In the 80s the BBC used to allow all the different departments to have their own Xmas parties. As part of a thankyou for all their hard work lots of stars who worked for the BBC recorded messages or sketches which were put on to video and shown at each party as part of the entertainment.
This sketch was one of those and was never intended to be shown on TV.
I know this because my best mate knew someone who was at the party that this Rainbow sketch was shown at. He managed to get his hands on it long enough to make a copy, which I saw in about 1986ish.
The entire tape was about 1 hour long, some of it crap, some of it hilarious, like the sketch you mention. When we first saw it we were both in stitches and changed the way we looked at that show forever.
And that my friends is a true story.:)

Beware.....

A guy at work had this and when he went back into the link some dodgy pictures came up.

Unfortuntely the people in the pictures were well under the legal limit.

You have been warned.

Was it the same link? When I go there all I get is a blank page and my download manager takes over.

And I'd believe it - if it wasn't for the fact that Rainbow was on ITV, not BBC!

That is of course a very good point, but it doesnt change the fact that this sketch was on that tape. Who knows what goes on between workers of different TV companies, especially at Xmas. Lets face it there's probably quite a few who know each other because they used to work together before jumping to the other "side."
Either this sketch was made for something similar that took place at ITV and was "loaned" out, or someone took it upon themselves to make it for a "friend" at the BEEB.
Lets face it, if I had made something as funny as that I'd want it to be seen by as many people as possible. Dont forget TV personalities are only under contract to their company for something which is to be broadcast. This was never intended to be.
