Mr Poyet bleated on for two season on how he wanted to manage in the PL and then signs for a side that's doomed for the championship..should of held out for a while.

Always thought (even before Dave Jones was sacked ) Pulis would have been waiting for a club like SWFC.

Allardyce was bemoaning the absence of Andy Carroll for West Ham's plight. I'd say after Gus then Big Sam is next most likely to come calling for Ulloa.

Clarke has managed them to deserved wins at both Anfield and Old Trafford and they should have won at Stamford Bridge too. I think there must be more to this than just results having faltered.

The BBC are reporting it as gardening leave and Clarke is out of contract come the end of this season. If he isn't playing ball with regards to agreeing a new one then they'd be within every right to do what they have.

West Brom are for me one of, if not the best run club in the country off the pitch. Can't see them making a knee jerk reaction or getting rid without having a good reason for doing so.

If Len can score a few in the next 2-3 weeks then I'm pretty sure he will be a target for some mid-lower Premiership teams.

I heard Allardyce was making some comment/moaning about not being able to get Lukaku on loan and that's why west ham weren't performing. Could one player be attributed to several managers getting the sack. Has one player had ever had this sort of effect before?

Allardyce's problems are down to him having spent all of his transfer budget on an injury prone striker who has yet to play for them this season. He'd have only going in for Lukaku as an after thought once it became evident Carroll was going to be out for a while.

But football these days IS all about results and who you sign and not sign, I bet they have someone lined up - I'm just trying to think whom!

The big disappointment for them this season has been Vydra. I expect they brought him in thinking he could make an impact in the way Lukaku did as a loan signing. Instead he has barely made any impact at all.

To be fair the Hammers doctor reported Carroll would be fit in September when he signed.

True but £6 million for Victor Anichebe!!!!!

I really can't see why anyone is surprised with only 7 wins out of 35 matches - you can see most people on here asking for Oscar to go if his record was that bad!

£6 million is chicken feed these days though. How much do you expect to pay for an established Premier League forward, albeit one who doesn't score many goals? WBA only paid as much for him as Palace did for Gayle, who had never even played in the Premier League before.

Would you let a manager that signed Gayle or Anichebe for £6M loose with your Premier Survival transfer kitty in January?

Sir Alex Ferguson once signed Bebe for £7 million, Wenger spent £10 million on Pascal Cygan. So what? Every manager gets it wrong sometimes. Spending £6 million on Anichebe has made no real contribution to West Brom having a bad run of form, so it's a red herring.

West Brom can't afford to spend £6m on players that fail Man U and Arsenal can.
