The battling Basque produced three goals in two games in February to help the Seagulls to their best run of the first half of this year – successive home wins over awkward Birmingham, in-form Leeds and leaders Derby.
Which is really what No.9 is all about - the sequence at the Amex which lifted spirits and sparked hope of an upbeat end to the season.
Later in the year, out on the right, Bruno’s ever-growing beard became a symbol of Albion’s continuing unbeaten run.
The ex-Valencia man produced his longest and arguably most impressive run of games for the stripes while developing his longest and most impressive set of whiskers.
But will the beard still be there tomorrow now the unbeaten run is over?
