Anybody eaten there? Is it recommended by fellow NSCers?

I have eaten there as I have at most others locally. It's very good, not the best I've ever had (that was actually in Belgium!) but it is very good

Very different places. The regency has a far wider choice and is not really a chippy.

Bankers has also IMO gone downhill in recent years.

Au contraire, much better than Bankers in my opinion. Bankers is fine for your staple fish dishes like cod, haddock, plaice etc. with chips, but the Regency offers a far more diverse menu, including meat dishes too. There is a real buzz about the place whenever l have eaten there.

its a good old fashioned restaurant like going back to the 1960's, the fish and chips i've had there have always been excellent.
