17m for Damien Duff you are having a laugh ! 6m for some bloke called Johnson . . . .shocking. No chance of the title at this rate. Blackburn have brought the most shrewdly so far and can see a top six for them.... not that I give a monkeys f*ck about the premiershite

Agree in principal. Johnson will tuen into a bargain for sure.
Duff at 17m christ ! Kewell for 5 .....now that makes sense.
Bridge for 7million now they reckon also, woukld be a good buy.

They still need a forward though, big time.

Duff is a class act and Johnson is very very highly rated. I think that so far Chelsea have bought very well and I can also see Ranieri getting much more out of Veron than Fergie did.

It pains me to say that ths Stamford Bridge scum could have a successful season heading their way. Bollocks!

Look at it from this point of view. All the time that Chelsea pay inflated prices for players it could incourage somebody to pay the kind of money we want for BZ.

Damian Duff could prove to be a great signing. Yes he's expensive but he's a man for the big stage - remember Duff at the World Cup?

Johnson and Bridge are also good signings, but I think Chelsea are wasting their time going after Steven Gerrard and to a lesser extent, Edgar Davids - Veron will be available at half the price and will be better value than Patrick Vieira at £50m or whatever Arsenal are quoting.

If Chelsea really want the title, they better bring Christian Vieri in, and quick. Top striker.

Haven't Chelsea learned from their recent past? All the time Ranieri was buying players every season, chopping and changing the team, they stood still. Then the money dries up a little, he's forced to go with a settled squad, only bringing in one or two players, and they finish fourth for a Champions League spot.

He could spend £100 million on as many top names he can think of, and still end up with a weaker team, if he only thinks about who they are rather than how they'll fit in the side.

At the moment you're looking at:

1. Cudicini
2. Johnson
3. Bridge
4. Gallas
5. Terry
6. Geremi
7. Lampard
8. Gronkjaer
9. Hasselbaink
10.Gudjohnsen
11.Duff

That would get you a close race for second with Arsenal. If they manage to get Vieira by the deadline of 7th August they leapfrog Arsenal and I'd then put them on a par with Man Utd.

hmmm, i still think Liverpool are heading for a top two finish, depends on how UTD (if secured) use their signings !!

Look guys, its Chelsea. of course they'll fuk up the Premiership and the Shampions League - they always do.

Doesn't matter how much money they throw at the problem, they always come up short.

They have bought very wisely. I thought they would be chasing over rated and over paid foreigners, but instead they are picking up very classy British players. I think Sven has definitely had a word and advised the Russian to buy some really quality players. If they add a world class striker to this list they will have a really good shot at the premiership title.
