Charlton have doubts over winger Scott Wagstaff (foot) and striker Akpo Sodje (knee) ahead of the visit of Brighton.
Defender Simon Francis should return after missing the 2-2 draw at Plymouth last weekend to be present for the birth of his daughter.
Brighton will hand a late fitness test to striker Fran Sandaza, who has been struggling with a thigh injury.
Winger Kazenga LuaLua has a hamstring problem but should be fit, but midfielder Alan Navarro (knee) is out.
Brighton manager Gus Poyet told BBC Sussex:
"We are Brighton and we've got an identity. We play one way - it doesn't matter where or against who. The players who play for the first team and the reserves play the way I want the team to play. If we can build from it it will be amazing.
"It's totally different to last year when we were in the bottom four. They were flying and not expecting a team like us to go there and play like we did.
"It's a beautiful place to play football. We need to go there and be ourselves."
