Being in Berlin I am missing all of pre season. I am eager to know how the team played today, especially since it was first home game and against good opposition. Could someone enlighten me? thanks!

It felt it was a very average display to be fair. Charlton passed the ball aroound much better and controlled the game.

Kuipers 8 - Made some crucial saves and had a solid game.

Richards - 6 Wasn't his best game. Gave the ball away sloppily a few times.

Whing - 7 Was physical throughout. Made a god run in secnd half and should have done better with the finish

Elphick - 7 Had a decent game. Distribution could have been better.

Hawkins - 7 A solid display, looked a strong centre half.

Hart - 6 Wasn't really in the game. Had a good run but was fairly anonymous throughout

Livermore - 7 Again was fairly anonymous but that is generally his role sitting in the holding position

Thomson - 6 Didn't have enough creativity and never looked a threat

Robinson - 5 Offered nothing to the game

Forster - 7 Worked hard throught but was not provided with the ball from the midfielders.

Murray - 6 Again very little to work with, a lack of creativity from the midfield was evident

From the subs, Lynch looked strong at the back,
Cox was more of a threat going forward than Robinson or Hart
Mcleod didn't get into the game
El-Abd very physically as ever but lacked any creativity for a central midfielder
Fraser gave the ball away too easily and created nothing
Mayo did ok, little to do but was passed in the lead up to the goal.

I think a creative midfielder is needed badly and less emphasis on the long ball!

Unless Robinson pulls his socks up I suspect we will see him fade out of contention this year. Micky wont put up with his alternating one good game then one bad.
