I'm getting a bit fed up with CO's pops at the minority of supporters that take the piss out of odd players.

Players really shouldn't be reading what the supporters say. They should be listening to the manager. And if he say's you're too fat, too slow, you do something about it.

He rarely seems to mention what good fans the majority of us are, like many players have.

After being thumped 5-0 by palace I shook his hand in the pub. I could see the hurt in his face and hoped shaking his hand and letting him know we knew they tried there best would help. But i don't think that ever got mentioned.

Anyway, ignore the minority of idiots Charlie and realise 99% of us on here support any player that is in an Albion shirt.

Must have been a different 5-0 to the one I saw. Just who tried their best in that game?

Most embarrasing performance I've ever seen from an Albion side:angry: (nearly a year on and I'm still mad about it!)

I agree Magoo, I think Charlie is wrong on this one - as he was last season when he complained about the stick he was getting.

Butters turned up overweight and out of shape. Some weeks later Hinsh was still talking about him needing to work on his fitness. That is NOT an ultimate professional, or whatever it was that CO called him. We were having terrible problems at the back, and he was no good to us because he was unfit. Not an injury but was not fit enough. If that's your profession, then a high level of fitness should be taken for granted.

As for the stick Oatway got, I don't think Oatway got stick about him not trying - he does try, ALWAYS - but the fans were frustrated at our lack of signings. Oatway was one who needed replacing if we were going to give Div 1 a shot. It wasn't personal.

Come on Charlie, the fans dish out a bit of stick, that's part of life as a pro footballer. I don't like the sound of the interviews, because they sounds very "them and us" in your attitude towards the fans.

I am afraid to say that Oatway often has a siege mentality when it comes to the fans.

There is a quote from Charlie in the 'Brighton Til I Die' book. It is along similar lines to his moan yesterday. I have never heard Charlie praise the fans. It is about time he remembers who pays his wages.

Team spirit got us where we are (or were in Div 1!!!) and he's simply makin a point to defend his fellow team mate.

Don't take it personally and just question what it would say about the club if CO (seen as a, if not the, key dressing room figure and obviously close to Butters) hadn't made a comment in Butters defence

On NSC for over two decades...
You can't blame Charlie for sticking up for his team-mates. It is part and parcel of his game that he plays for everyone, as was easily seen in his superb display yesterday. We expect the players to take stick from time to time so it is only right that we are man enough to take some too - particularly if it is warranted, as is the case with the Butters incident. We shouldn't ask Charlie to rein in this particular charateristic of his, as he wouldn't be half the player he is without it.

This is a pathetic little dig by Oatway.

What reaction did he expect to the following three incidents last season:

Peterson back peddling then tripping over his own legs to hand a free goal

Two defenders going for the same header and missing it to concede a goal

The public humiliation at Selhurst where a team probably played worse than Luton did yesterday.

Are we to sing "Oh what a beautiful morning" and congratulate the players and say "same again next week " ?

Like feck we do we pay the players wages therefore we have the right to say what we think

i've said it before.
players shouldn't be reading this banter. if they do it should be with a big pinch of salt. Not moaning in the press because of what one or two keyboard warriors whine about or what some loner shouted out at a game.

get proffessional!

if a supporter really has a problem with a particular player i'm sure they'd write to the chairman who will then take the necessary action.

So you think it is wrong that some players of the team we all support have a look at this board!

Anyone is entitled to say what they think,as you do on here.So take it with a pinch of salt,as you say!!

Good to see the players sticking together.Do you expect him to say we were right having a pop at Butters or anyone else. The players have a good mentality, hurt one you hurt them all. That is why they stick together so well on the pitch 99% of the time.
Remember their reaction when Kitson scored at Reading all pointing to him and to the crowd.Nothing wrong wuith that at all.
Surely by saying he shouldn't have a dig at the fans,Isn't that as bad as having a go at a player. Why be offended by Charlie or any other player having a go at fans yet we say Butters should just take it as a laugh and get on with it?
Don't throw stones in glass houses. If you are annoyed with Charlies comments is that a bit of a guilt trip ?

Best you start sharpening your colouring crayons and practice your joined up writing, Lucky Boy Farang!!

When Charlie proves he can handle something better than the lower leagues then he can spout off about the fans moaning about player performances.

No stick any Albion player has taken has been unjust so he should keep his mouth shut!

The only reason i have mentioned it is because it's not the first time he's complained about fans in the press.
He really ought to be more worried about his own performance than what we are saying.

I thought sort of made that clear.
