He seems have been playing as an attacking midfielder/second striker for most of the season.

Correct. Olympiakos plays with an old school CF (El Kaabi, who was extremely efficient).
In the U21 NT team he played CF, and in the UEFA U19 Youth League (which Olympiakos won beating Milan 3-0 in the final) he was also CF.

I personally prefer him in systems with 2 strikers, or AM and coming as second.
Theoretically he could play together with Tzimas, and I think it could work.

They only played 1 game together in the U21 NT (3-2 loss against Croatia, Kostoulas had scored 1) .
Kostoulas started as CF in 4-3-3, Tzimas entered after Halftime as CF and Kostoulas moved to 2nd striker.

The only way for club like us to get a superstar is to get them before err....they actually are one. Given the position he plays in there will always be a premium so the price is not outrageous, when you consider the likes of the Hojland at Utd cost over £60m
The key is to sign these type of players before they turn 18 or when their contract is running down. Brexit has made the former difficult for English clubs now.

United were able to sign Garnacho as a 16 year old from Atlético for basically nothing, and will probably sell him for 50-60 million 5 years later.

Højlund was a really stupid signing for that fee. But he had shown a decent amount for 3 clubs at senior level by the time United signed him. He had also scored a hat-trick and brace for Denmark already by that point. He is shot of all confidence now. He needs to get the hell out of there. Rebuild his career somewhere. His record in European competitions is decent. 17 goals from 34 games.

Rutter's best position is also the second striker role, so that makes this signing interesting. Maybe he'll be his understudy.

With the amount of attacking midfielder/second striker options, it's probably a sign that both J.Pedro and Enciso will leave.

Having too many good options, especially some very youngs among them is always great.
Especially when you have tons of games in PL + Cups + Europe.
Having young players, makes it easier to sit them on the bank when needed without causing major ego issues, despite their cost.

It is exciting to see your team, the planning, the moves, looking further in the future.
I am really loooking forward to watching the games next season regardless who starts or plays, and I think you will gain many followers.

It’s almost impossible to sign these players before they turn 18 now. FIFA rules mean players can’t move across national borders before their 18th birthday unless they already have a legal right to reside in the country they are moving too. So as you say Brexit has wiped out our ability to sign EU players before they turn 18. We can obviously get deals agreed but they can’t be registered with us until they turn 18.

The key is landing them as close to their 18th birthday as possible. Facundo moved days after he turned 18. This maximises the chances they’ll be able to complete 3 full seasons, or 36 months, by the end of the season they turn 21 and then count as a home grown player which increases their value to other PL clubs.

Not sure he's ready for first team action yet... I'd rather play Georgi at RW assuming Minteh isn't available
I was impressed with him at QPR last pre-season. Talking of pre-season, have we still only got the 2 matches, or have any more been added yet?

Oh, I thought he was stellar in Japan, but he's not pulled up trees at Blackburn this season. I accept he was injured for some of the loan, and like other Albion loanees had to deal with a change of manager, but he was getting decent minutes between December and February and registered only one goal involvement.

So do you think it's more likely he'll be competing with Georginio, and Gruda for a deeper lying front man place than Tzimas, Welbeck and Ferguson as the main striker?

There are similarities with Georginio
Check out Datascout-France's recent report on Kostoulas (89% similarity).
But they can also play together and change positions, as he can with Tzimas.

If you notice the other similarity mentioned. Dybala. Pick Dabala was unbelievable.
If you remember Juventus in 2015/2016 they had Dybala, Morata and Mandzukic, and Dybala, Morata would change positions between SS and CF all the time depending the game or the flow of the game.

Georginio needs cover. £75m for the two.
Aye curumba, that position must win you games.
