Wasn't he a vicar or something?

In fact, I think, like myself, he's a Catholic priest.

I think you'll find the he is Fr Cornelius Horan an Irish priest who is living in South London. He would describe himself as being on 'sabbatical'. The reality is that he is was supended some time ago. Last year he was living with some priests in London to keep a eye on him. I had though they had send him to prison. I bet you he's the man who grappled with the marathon runner. It'll be something about world peace or the end of the world.

We don't half get them

If he returns to this country he should be locked up indefinately under the mental health act.

If it is the same :tosser: who ran on the GP track he could have easily kill one of the drivers.

Hopefully the spectators got in a few kicks and punches before the police eventually wandered over.

So Father Ted is a lot nearer to reality than we originally thought!

It was disgusting what happened in the marathon. I am pleased he got a medal, and may have got a gold, but you never know what would have happened if that hadn't happend. He may have finished first, or twenty third. Nothing should be taken away from the winner, or the rest of the competitiors, they all ran there hearts out, and deserved there finish.

What a f***ing CUUUUNT. I was well pissed off when I saw that. Reckon the runner should have turned round and BATTERED him. He'd have still been given a medal.

Just lucky it wasn't some loon with a knife, though. The police were nowhere to be seen as he ran from the other side of the road.

Honestly though - how can you properly protect runners in a marathon? Line all twenty-odd miles with police? Even if you have more police it only took a split second for a nutter to run on. You either accept the risk or cancel all marathons.

I think its too early to conclude that Silverstone and Athens are connected. All the protection the leader had was some git on a bike pedalling very slowly. By the time he got to the scene people in the crowd had rescued the marathon runner. Despite the incident, people were still allowed to walk into the road and there seemed to be little or no crowd control at all. I have never seen anything like it in any other marathon race.:nono:

Have we yet estabilished yet what the f*** he was protesting about?

The guy should be sent to prison but there is no law that could really convict him so he'll probably get off scot-free.

Some big guy with a beard looked like he was going to give him a smack in the mouth. Where was the security though?

No we don't know what its all about, but I wonder whether it has anything to do with the protest some of the Greek crowd made at the start of the 100 or 200 metre race. I suppose we will just have to wait and see.
