It will be interesting to see the difference between a side who won’t have played a competitive game for 6 weeks and one who will have played every week during that time.
Which is why we MUST play our strongest team. Hopefully we can get some sort of friendly sorted so at least those players not involved in the WC can keep sharp.

Sydney .
You're right. Was at that game. We went in top of the table having beaten Sunderland 2-0 at Roker park on the Saturday and beating Charlton would have cemented that position. If memory serves me well we were on the massive terrace at the side.
No, we were behind one of the goals - I remember the Charlton keeper pulling down hard and wobbling the crossbar just prior to the penalty kick.
Don't think we were top , I'm sure that season was the season it changed from 2 pts to 3pts for a win and I seem to remember thinking we would of been top if the points for a win hadn't changed.

Well, we aren't one of the TV games

Bizarre that Sky aren't broadcasting all of the games in this round. Premier League isn't back, the only televised clash I can find is Aberdeen v Rangers. 6/8 of the games are classic Premier League vs EFL cup ties as well...

Really don’t understand why not more of the league cup matches are televised. The demand would be there surely?

It's odd as there are not really any limitations like the Premier League.

Only one live broadcaster, no Saturday 3pm games. The package sold by the EFL is for 15 games but it seems like a completely missed opportunity for the EFL. At the very least all EFL clubs would be set up to broadcast via iFollow if they didn't want to devalue that SkySports package.

As was the case with the previous round, there are likely to be more games televised overseas than in the UK.

Given this, there's probably a reasonable chance that we will be televised somewhere, making dodgy streams accessible.

Any sign of the final date of this. Promised Mrs Giraffe dinner out that week and booked somewhere nice for the Wednesday assuming this would be Tuesday. Eek.

This seems to indicate we are on the Tuesday.

But, only the 2 TV games plus Newcastle v Bournemouth have changed from the 'holding date' of Tuesday 20th.

The Arsenal game wasn't broadcast anywhere - no streams. Very surprising given it was 1st v 6th in the Premier League!
