Before this tournament I genuinely thought we had a genius in charge but now I think the only reason we qualifed was because Croatia played a lot shitter than 2 years ago. Tonight has been embarassing. We seem to have gone backwards and are no further forward than under maclaren or eriksson. I'm astonished at capellos ineptitude this tournament. I would think so - Rooney was so off the pace. The side is screaming for Cole on the left with Gerrard behind Rooney, it looks like Capello is just being stubborn.

As someone else said, why on earth would you want a team where the lone striker is the worst player.

I'd drop Lampard, who's done nothing in two games now, bring in Cole on the left and have Crouch and Defoe up front.

tired and uninspired, really only care about their own performance, not the team not the fans, too rich and spoilt with no real hunger, you could take 11 championship players and have a better team, without fail the most disappointing night ever as an England fan, i didn't even want England to score at the end because they didn't deserve it.

Capello bottled it and this is the same team we failed with 4 years ago and if we play like that against Slovenia, i will f***ing cheer as the England team get on the plane home.

I'm not sure how much is Capello's fault t.b.h.

Having said that he needs to bite the bullet. Rooney isn't fit. Give the spud-faced-nipper a rest for the next game. And give Joe Cole a runout instead of Lennon.

A change is as good as a rest.....but just saying that makes me realise what little he has to work with. So lets blame the Premier League for buying in tons of foreigners rather than developing our own.

Should always have been the formation from the start.... Rooney HAS to play as the lone striker , with Gerard in the middle. WHY did Capello start with him on the left ... he never plays there for Liverpool . Surely Cole has to start on the left ....if not, why include him in the squad in the first place ?

see what you mean but with gerrard supporting him through the middle i think you'd see a different Rooney.......dont get me wrong i thought rooney and the whole team was utter shit but at least play them all in their strongest positions. Gerrard on the left doesnt work. 5 acroos the middle means gerrard can push forward with barry and lampard sitting behind him...... On second thoughts roll on 7th August
