Can any computer guru help? I burnt all my Cardiff photos onto a CDRW. Now I cannot open the darn thing. It's showing as "write protected". The disc has 700mb capacity but it only shows as 570mb so the data is all there. How do I get rid of the write protection? Thanks fo any advice:)

Try copying the photos onto your hard disk and then try opening them from there...has worked for me in the past.

Alternatively try opening the CD on a different computer

Try selecting them all in Explorer, right click on selected files, go to properties and if the Read Only box is ticked, untick it.

I'm probably talking bollocks though - I usually do.

And is untick a word?

As a DR expert I would:

recommend you check the CD drive you are trying to read the CD from ( some of the older ones have difficulty in reading CDRW's)

I would then get the CD's and go around all our 100 varieties of CD drives and try each one until we found one that would read it.

If all else failed, we would use our associate company to discect the CDRW digitally to get what we could off it.

That is what you pay a DR company for. And actually as an ambassador for my company I am a fecking good AS400 tekkie. That is what they pay me for. If I wasn't I would be out of a job:lolol:

Only joking Dave.

Ooh AS400, that's all OUTQ and SP, F3 to exit and stuff innit - green on black screens, tapes and everything? (I'm still talking bollocks aren't I...) :dunce:
