Our cat Ziggy has recently had to have the remainder of his teeth removed, as he's allergic to his own plaque, resulting in gingivitis
Decision made as cannot abide to see him in permanent pain from the latter
£900 later and he's improving.
Tried to claim from Animal Friends, but the shysters have a clause of no teeth.
Minor irrelevance, but no arguments on paying out.

Why are people so cruel

Unfortunately human cruelty to animals is appalling but not uncommon. As an animal lover myself I agree with your sentiments

I live on a private country estate. The only farming is a local sheep farmer has his sheep on and off the land. We have a wild herd of deer of around 40. There's two white harts and two white females. Along with them I've been documenting (in my head) a young vixen, often in my garden. She is in great health and in the last week I've seen her with two cubs.

There's an arsehole who invites himself on the land who often brings a gun. I caught this week in one of the fields. I challenged him to what he was doing. He said he wanted to shoot deer and also the foxes. This horrible individual last year boasted about getting a white hart . Obviously not being a country person he didn't understand how out of order he was. I said this time if he so much as got close to the vixen or the deer I f***ing smack him. He called me all the names under the sun but left.

I did though hear shots later on nearby. Utter twat.

Apparently it should be easy to get DNA & fingerprints from the tape that was wrapped around the bag. I hope they get the person soon.

If someone doesn’t want their cat, there are plenty of rescue centres who would take it in. Why abandon it in such a cruel way?

Strangely, a local friendly cat, in Newhaven, was found in a box by the underpass on Northway. Everyone knows this cat, who greets people as they walk this way, so somebody took advantage of the cat’s friendly nature to grab it and shove it in a cardboard box, so it couldn’t escape. Luckily another person found her, and she’s safely back with her owners now.

There are some sick people around.
