Inigo Calderon will get a warm feeling when the Albion team coach pulls up outside the Cardiff City Stadium this evening.
A much warmer feeling than he experienced at Blackpool on a terrible pitch in the Seagulls' previous away game, or at Derby County earlier in the season.
The long-serving Spaniard has been involved in two impressive away wins since Cardiff swapped Ninian Park for their Amex-type modern home.
Those happy memories will be in his thoughts as Albion look for an instant response to another home setback against Nottingham Forest to ease their relegation worries.
Calderon said: "Blackpool was a different scenario. We did more than we had to do there and then there was a small mistake and one goal.
"This is going to be a normal game on a good pitch, so there is not that excuse or handicap. I prefer that. You are not thinking about the pitch.
"We are against a good team but the last two times we have been to Cardiff we have got good results. We have to try to do it for a third time in a row."
Calderon started Albion's 3-1 win at Cardiff in August 2011. He came on in the closing stages of a 2-0 victory two years ago, a rare home blip for the Welshmen as they rampaged towards the Championship title.
Not many players remain from those successes in the principality. Fellow Spaniard Bruno is the only starting survivor of the previous visit but Calderon admits the experiences will send him into battle tonight in a more positive frame of mind.
"It is like that," said the right-back turned right-sided midfielder. "For example, in the other way, you have Derby. The last time we were there I had a really bad feeling, because I had bad memories from the play-offs.
"Even at the hotel and at the stadium when you arrive before the game. And in the game it was like that, 3-0 down in 20 minutes.
"Sometimes it is the other way, you have a stadium that for what ever reason you feel allright about.
"There are not too many players left from the first time we won there (Cardiff) but there are teams that perform better at some places and I'd like to think this is going to be the same."
