Hard to say, both full backs are good.

Painter hasn't signed yet, I'm not sure but does a pre-contract agreement tie him to us? Or can another club approach him before his 'proper' contract is signed?

Poke? Reports are good, but Brez might not give us a chance to see him in action, which means we are doing well. :)

Painter is signed. You can't just pull out of a pre contract agreement and move elsewhere otherwise they would be pointless. If he did that the other club would have to agree a fee with us for the transfer as usual.

As for best signing so far, I would say Painter. I think he is more solid than Calderon, who is better going forward. Poke I haven't seen but sounds a good signing as well so encouraging so far. Will be interesting to see who comes in next. Nobody on here or anywhere I have seen said that Poke was signing so we may have a few surprises.

Calderon - Painter more solid defensively, but Calde exciting going forward and a good defender too...

I couldn't choose - they were both essential signings if we are going to make a promotion push. Our defence is very settled now, and these two full backs are a massive part of that.

What we now need more than anything is a decent target man striker. Someone like Marlon Harewood will score bucketloads with the service provided by two pacey full backs.
