Somerset legend Caddick to retire
Andrew Caddick
Caddick made his Test match debut for England in 1993

Somerset's former England seamer Andrew Caddick is to retire from cricket at the end of the season.

The 40-year-old played 62 Tests taking 234 wickets at an average of under 30 while also claiming 69 victims in 54 one-day internationals.

Caddick, who is eighth in the list of all-time England Test wicket-takers, has been with Somerset for 17 years.

In 2005 he became one of only six current players to take 1,000 first-class wickets.

A great servant to the game.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I loved watching him and Goughie steaming in for England. They were a cracking pair of openers and such a shame they never tasted an Ashes series victory. I assume Shack will be flying helicopters for a living.

Average of under 30 is fantastic in test cricket, I think only Freddie of the current crop can claim that.
