The Official Match Ball used on the game against Portugal, that left UK out of the Europe Cup, the same ball of the penalty, that David Beckham miss, will be auctioned on eBay. Pablo Carral, a fan, catched the ball and he took it out from the stadium.

Is the Official Europe Cup Match Ball, made in Thailand. It has the date of the game, the 24th of June 2004, also the place of the celebration, da Luz of Lisbon stadium.

Don’t loose this great and unique chance!!!

Place a bid now!!!

:lolol: Translations RULE!

This story reminds me of something similar that happened in the USA.

I can't remember the exact details, perhaps someone on here can. I think it was a baseball team (possibly Chicago) that missed out on winning the championship. The offending ball (bad workmen blame their tools, so I'm told) was put up for auction, and the winner could decide what to do with it. I have vague recollections that it was put on display and blown to pieces............. Any enlightenment?

BTW I think it should be Beckham that should receive that fate. (Not really, before anyone jumps to his defence.)

How do they know that this is the real thing. They use about 30 balls during a game. Every time it goes out of play, another one is immediately thrown on. I know it has the date on it, but there is no way of proving it was the Beckham ball.
ps, I've got a bit of Goldstone turf from last home game in real div one against Man city. any offers?!!

chicago missed out on last years world series after a fan interferred with play and caught the ball, pretty much out the fielders glove.

the ball was auctioned, and i believe it was indeed blown to bits by the lucky recipient :lolol:

Cheers RM. Thanks for the reminder of the details of the ball being caught by the fan. Pretty sick costing a championship. I wonder if the 'fan' is still around to tell the tale.
