I hadn't heard it till just a few days ago, radio being what it is in Japan. Now I have and I wish I hadn't bothered. What a wishy washy slit my wrists dirge. It makes David Gray's Soft Cell cover look interesting and clever and that's some feat.

Its a great song so good that Roland from TFF said that when they tour next year they will be doing the Gary Jules version.

I haven't herad it, but i want to buy the lost brothers - cry little sister song! tune!
Heard it on Sara Cox's show the other morning.

Even she was embarrased and lost for words after playing it for about a 90 seconds.

Its done in a very very bad stylee of the equally dreadfull scooter !

For those who are saying the Gary jules version is shit, i advise you to watch the film Donnie darko, The Tune is melancholic and down beat to fit the mood and ending of the film - and it fits it absolutetly beautifully.

Lets be honest it is 10 times better than any other wank in the charts at the moment.

Well I saw Donny Darko a couple of months ago. Tremendous film, just rent it as soon as you can.
Then Mad World comes on the radio. Such is the power of the film that on hearing the song I had to STOP EVERYTHING and listen to it. Goosebumps, totally.
Sadly for those who haven't seen the film I don't think it'll have the same impact the other way round. The first time you hear that version of Mad World HAS to be in the film. Otherwise it probably does sound like a lame ballady cover version.

That Mad World tunes is a f*** sight better than the original which sadly I do own. Its a beautiful tune with cracking lyrics and as has already been said sends a chill up my spine when I hear it.

I love it and think its the only decent tune in with a chance of xmas number one. Kelly and Ozzy is a poor remake, Pop Idols can f*** off and that f***ing Bo Selecta piece of shit I won't even comment on that one.

The producers of Donnie Darko wanted to use U2's MLK for the ending but couldn't afford to licence it.

What a load of absolute SHITE that film was! Donnie darko was a waste of my time watching last week on video - happily not paid for with my money.

The song is no better done than any karaoke version I could muster up at my local. People will buy it in droves because radio is saturating the airwaves with it just like every pile of crud they decide you must like.
It's a good cure for insomnia, and if you prefer not to make any effort to find music that you might have a taste of your own for because it's easier to be told what to like by the media, you should buy it and play it by the fire and Zmas tree after a nice turkey dinner with stuffing.
