Butters - early contender for Player of the Season?

Another great performance form Guy last night.

When Blackwell got injured I was very worried that we would have a weak link at the back next to Danny, but Guy Butters has made the position his own with some stout defending.

He is not the best distributor of the ball, but he is strong, can read the game, can header and has already scored 2 goals.

I know he doesnt stand out in most games, but the way he has forced his way into the team after the ridicule he recieved last season is admirable to the extreme. Lesser players (Kitson) would have bottled it by now.

Stand up Guy Butters, the boy Lennon salutes you.

Totally agreed. Look at the two misfits from last season - Kitson released and getting jeered by us at Rushden and Butters has got his head down in training and since he got a chance in the first team he's grabbed it.

Keep it up Mr. Butters!

I have been impressed with Butters ever since he made first start this season against Luton, he hasn't put a foot wrong and is superb in the air, nice finish last night too! It says a lot about the mans character too, he's taken so much stick in the past year or so but the way he has come back from that to put in exceptional performances week after week is astounding.

Well done Guy Butters.

I don't care as long as he keeps this kind of form up! However, the rate at which little Leon is scoring I think he's got his work cut out.

He doesn't start a lot of threads but the ones he does.....

MAGIC!

I agree, Butters is no longer a fat **** in my eyes, he is a big fat rock of a defender with a hammer of a left foot.

Off home, peace:wave:

Fair play though, he has got better the more games he has played, and I was impressed with him last night.

Rio Ferdinand he ain't, but I reckon he can easily do a job for us at this level.

Guy Guy Guy, Guy Butters
Guy Guy Guy, Guy Butters
Once you were poor
But now you're not fat any more
Forgive us Guy Butters, now get your arse up there and score

Steady on with the Player of the Year accolades though!
