Greg Rusedski's hot streak continued with a three-set win over Slovakia's Karol Beck in the second round of the Mercedes-Benz Cup in Los Angeles.

Beck beat Tim Henman at Queen's and looked ready to claim another British scalp when he took the first set against Rusedski 6-3.

But Rusedski's confidence is sky high following his victory in the Hall of Fame Championship in Newport, Rhode Island on Sunday. He won the second set 6-3 and set up a quarter-final clash with German Nicolas Kiefer by winning a third-set tie-break 7/2.

Rusedski, who was cleared in March of charges of using performance-enhancing drugs, bounced back from his disappointing performance at Wimbledon to claim his 14th career title at Rhode Island.

His good form continued when he defeated seventh seed Taylor Dent, the big-serving American, 7-6 (9/7) 3-6 6-2 in the first round in Los Angeles.

Kiefer eased into the quarter-finals with a 6-4 7-5 win over American Glenn Weiner.
