Amazed there is no thread on this, biggest nice in the British music calendar and what a stellar year it has been for British artists and music in general and those people will be richly rewarded tonight with a treasured Brit in front of a raucous audience of thousands inside the arena and many millions in the UK and indeed around the world.

Hope Wolf Alice, Sam Fender, Little Simz and Self Esteem win their awards, good young British artists doing something that isn't the mainstream, and really standing out this year. I rated the Olivia Rodrigo album and Taylor Swift's output, but as usual, the BRITS miss out huge swathes of fantastic music because they aren't on a major label. Maneskin are a glorified Karaoke band for example which somehow get a nomination for best international group over the likes of Turnstile or Parquet Courts, simply because they are linked to tik tok and Sony.

The only ones there for me are Little Simz, Self Esteem, The War On Drugs, Wolf Alice, Sam Fender and London Grammar.

The rest ain’t for me at all.

Would like any of the above to pick up an award, but not holding out much hope and not that fussed if they don’t anyway - it’s a pretty lame event.

That may as well be written in Arabic as far as I'm concerned, depressing getting old.
However I am watching it or trying to, worst so far, Adele trying to be normal.
Anyway..er...whoop whoop.....peace.

I’m trying too.

I’ve never heard of anyone so far apart from Adele and KSI.

I thought Little Simz was going to be something special. Sounds like a 6th former at the end of year show.

Wow, what a magical night for British music, I've only just caught my breath, a whirlwind of talent, emotion. Absolutely thrilled for Adele, probably the greatest we've ever produced and will likely take away Robbie Williams' crown in the coming years with most Brits ever.

:D :D :D

If you erase from musical history: Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, Emile Sande, Marianne Faithful, Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, Beverley Knight (I've got bored now) then you may be right.

Dreary, predictable and scarily narrow in musical style and genre. The fact that the biggest winner’s sound could have emerged any time over the last 50 years says it all.
