Connor Sammon to Derby from Wigan for £1.2m and Davies to Bristol City from Derby for £750k.

Just saying that is all.

We could have bought either if it was a case of buying a target man for the sake of it.

Clearly, there is interest in somebody very specific. I imagine if we can't get him before the end of August, then somebody else will be coming in.

I like many others on here am growing increasingly frustrated, not by the clubs lack activity, but feeling like i need to check this site every hour just incase i miss something.

Its all good though. Would hate it if we became a club where we just signed players on a whim. Best take the time to get it right.

Can;t wait for tomorrow!

Wouldn't have been bothered with Davies. Surprised that Sammon has dropped down, though. He might have been a good buy.

This is a good example of the domino effect though, which is quite probably what is holding us up. i.e Bristol City had the Davies deal done, but it didn't go through until Derby had signed his replacement. We might well be in a similar situation.

Michu the new signing for Swansea looked handy against QPR and a relative snip at £2m, a biggish lump with an eye for the goal who might have fitted our needs.

Pity he wasn't on Gus's radar, especially with his knowledge of Spanish footie. I guess we would struggle to compete with their Premiership wages, even Swansea now have a decent budget with their income from a couple of big sales?

I'd personally rather we didn't buy for the sake of it. I'd rather wait if need be...

And spend in Jan if the right person comes up...

1.2mil for Salmon :lol; NO THANKS!

Michu is an attacking midfielder though.

Crazy money for someone so inexperienced isn't it?!

Edit. Just looked at his stats on Wiki, I genuinely thought he was a youngster who was struggling to get into their first team. 1 goal in 32 for Wigan isn't too hot though

Sammon had half a good season in Scotland. He did nothing before, and has done nothing whatsoever at Wigan. £1.2m is crazy money.
