Thanks for the replies chaps - I accept the news as reported and the fact that he has been recalled. I am genuinely puzled though - I'm sure there have been discussions on here about recalling other players, which we couldn't do because of the transter window rules - Sima perhaps one of them?

There was also concern that after BDB was sold on deadline day, and then injuries caused our CB crisis, we couldn't recall Van Hecke or Clarke to plug the gap.

So can we get Undav in to play against Wolves? I don't think so .........................

Its a bit complicated and I dont know the rules 100% but Tolaj could probably be recalled because he was registered with the academy rather than the PL squad. He can play for Brighton U23s but not wont be available for the first team, as I understand it.

Sima was a different thing.. already registered for two clubs (Prague and Stoke) this season, which is the maximum allowed.

As for Van Hecke, Clarke etc. some players have recall clauses and some dont. Often, but not always, depends on if there was a loan fee involved.

The take away from this game is the loss of Sarmiento.

He needs a proper recovery period and hopefully will be back for a proper pre-season

Only watched the highlights, but looked like a day to forget for Offiah. On the plus side, Fergusons ability to latch on to a long ball and play others in is very impressive.

The highlights don't do Offiah any favours because for the most part he was one of our brightest players , passing it forward, taking on the opposition and looking v.assured.
No wonder he's a first team squad regular.

Yes, I've been impressed with him before when I've watched whole matches. Still learning the game, but lots of good signs. Ferguson is obviously eye-catching, but I'm always impressed with Andy Moran when I see him. His play seems very grown-up.

Big, strong and powerful but needs to work on his passing and his left foot, he cuts inside from the right but can’t play a left footed pass forwards. Work in progress perhaps

Yes, we're both guessing that there must be some loophole somewhere that the club knew about but we didn't.

The issue of whether loan moves can be made outwith the transfer windows is nothing to do with contracts - if there is a season long loan with a 'no recall' clause, that is it, obviously; the player is contracted to the host club for the whole season. Loans are season long loans (with or without a mid-season recall clause) or half season loans, and those are all that are allowed. And in terms of recalling loans, when we wanted to cut short the loans of Mac Allister, Moder and Karbownik we had to wait until the January window to do it.
