I'm sure she'll grow out of it or be put off by finding himself in an unpleasant situation.

It's an unpopular opinion but the casual/hooligan culture is incredibly attractive to young men and not just the brainless idiots you'd expect. The comradery, socialising, fashion and the adrenaline buzz.

I feel like its quite a complex behavioral trait, more like a condition and doesn't mean he's a thug or a "twat".
Over the years some of the top players involved in football violence have come from good homes and have held good jobs bank managers, solicitors, and even policemen.
Sad but goes for a lot of kids especially in bad times when you cant easily get a rush from positives. But usually turns out alright. Also we cant have beer and football really there is sometihng in our drinking culture that turn us violent and destructive. UEFA didnt ban English clubs for fun they did it because it was 100% necessary
Yet European fans are causing far more disruption and violence and have done for years.

I don't know the blokes involved, but it seems the evidence is this video, and that Police Officers have had their eye on one or two of them. I think the evidence should be stronger to curtail someone's liberty and squeeze them for £1700.
There could be a video of the lads stabbed in Rome, which may show them fighting back to a degree, if that then gets posted on a Hooligan site, they could be in trouble. It seems that depending on what the Police think they know about the people involved, they could receive a hefty "costs" bill and a banning order, regardless of whether they were attacked and defending themselves and others, or not. I think its a dodgy bit of law that allows these banning orders, and significant financial penalties to be applied, on such flimsy evidence.
Hardly curtailing their liberty - they just can't go and misbehave at Brighton or England football matches  ......and they'll save a lot more than £1700 not buying matchday tickets or season tickets for the next five years!

Anyway, if video evidence shows anti-social, aggressive and unacceptable behaviour, that is sufficient evidence, surely.

The video doesn't show the context of what happened. Personally, if I was in a group of friends that came under attack from Marseille fans, I think I would likely be throwing a few punches back, I don't think that is unacceptable. The lads in this case did not offer a defence in court, other than one of them offering the Shaggy defence, so they probably deserve it, I just think that banning orders, like ASBO's, are a dodgy area of law.

Am I reading this correctly, does the guy who head butted another Brighton fan get no actual punishment for his offence ( other than banning order ) and pays less costs than the other 4 mentioned who actually didn't make any physical contact?.
Looks that way, yes, although you would expect the costs to be less

Surely the corrected version above is more accurate?

- alcohol acts as a depressant- it tends to exacerbate emotions and behaviour that is normally suppressed - I have met all sorts of heavy drinkers over the years (both in a work (drug and alcohol rehabs) and social/family environment) some who become aggressive when drunk, some depressed and anxious, some who seem to ‘drink themselves sober‘ (or some who get a bit lairy then just fall asleep (like me 😂) . I don’t know whether it’s a generalisation but it seems in my experience, when alcohol does impact badly on a minority of people’s emotional behaviour, it seems to be more the women who get tearful and depressed when drinking excessively and the men who get violent and destructive - maybe those two emotional responses are two sides to the same coin? Teenagers are a different breed altogether - lots of emotions and angst mulling around under the surface anyway because of life, their age, etc etc, accompanied by binge drinking and peer pressure - too much to unpack really.
Alcohol wouldn’t be my first guess as a root cause to this behaviour, it’s there but it’s mostly Coke that get these shrinking violets bouncing around “wanting it”

Pathetic the persecution that goes on with lads that just want to have a go with each other at football while others in society do what they want .

Roland’s video also got someone banned !!

Phones away

Classic NSC thread on this sort of thing though here. Nobody at all knows the circumstances. Someone’s calling it a criminal prosecution when it’s not. Lots of blaming coke or alcohol and assuming they are the reasons when nobody knows what they had done or whether it played a part in the small video we’ve seen. Just a load of whataboutery really! May as well be on Facebook most of this shit 🤷🏻‍♂️

If someone was filming back in the 90’s they would have got slapped for it. The least these vloggers should do is fuzz out faces whilst editing.

Never been on it and never will I’m afraid. I find mainstream social media toxic, fake and a breeder for anxiety and mental health issues! Nothing against anyone who uses it and especially who use it normally but I detest it with a passion unfortunately. Breeding ground for so much BS and fake news & hate. (Plus I couldn’t bite my tongue with plastic big 6 glory hunters talking ‘football’ on there!)

I called it a police prosecution as the police took it to court.
