It was only another three years before they started building on that land. I grew up in Shaftesbury Road (the site of which is in that picture), and the houses there were finished in 1874.

Impossible to tell as the engine is out of the picture. However I think that might be Annie and Clarabel at the back.

I was bought up in that area as well.

Right on the bottom of the picture there is a small white blob, one of the bombs in WW2 fell on there.
