Chris Hughton's side are without long-term absentees Shane Duffy (foot) and Connor Goldson (heart condition).
Visitors Bristol City are without striker Aaron Wilbraham (knee) and midfielder Gary O'Neil (hamstring) for their two remaining games this term.
The Robins have all but secured their survival, six points above the drop.
Brighton, four points ahead of second-placed Newcastle, could pick up their sixth league title and become the 49th different team to win the second tier of English football on Friday if Newcastle lose at Cardiff.
Bristol City head coach lee Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol:
"We are the bridesmaid aren't we, not the bride, in this game for everybody outside Bristol.
"Everybody is expecting us to be a pushover but we don't think we will be. We want to show what we're about.
"It is a tough game. This club has always been good as an underdog."
