I'm coming to Brighton next saturday & meeting a mate who supports Bristol Rovers, they are on sky at 12.45 and he would like to catch the game, bearing in mind it doesn't finish until 2.30ish where is the best place to watch it?
Is there sky tv at the ground (the keepmoat occasionly shows games) or a bar nearby or are we better off watching near Brighton station and jumping on a train?

Thanks.

You've actually raised another logistical point.

LOADS of Sky TV at the ground. However, the club says it's not opening the ground until 1pm.

Because the ground is out of town, you'd have to miss some of the match if you were in town. You won't get to the ground in time for kick-off if you leave the city centre after 2.30pm.

Yes, we've been promised that all early kick off games will be shown at the ground both on the concourses and the big screens. However, they've said the ground won't open till 1pm. The only pub you can really watch it in and be sure to get to the ground is the Hikers Rest, which is a little rough but you should be ok. It's about a 15 minute walk. Of course it's all new to us, so we're not really sure what's going to work, but I definitely wouldn't risk trying to get a train as late as 2.30. Or after 2 at all really.

I think one of those of us at the fans meeting should probably have chirped up about this, as I don't think Richard Hebbard knows such things.

My suggestion would be (even though you'll miss a couple minutes) is to watch the first half in town and try to catch the 2nd half at the ground... but as others have said it's all new to us so we don't even know yet!

As long as you aren't in colours The Queen's Head has sky and is literally over the road from Brighton station, it'll most likely be packed however. The train is approx 10 minutes to Falmer - I've looked at some train times and there is a 13:22 (arr 13:31) and a 13:40 arr (13:49) Trains to Falmer usually go from platform 8 so good luck!

I think I would head straight to the ground. The concourses may not be open but I'm sure Dick's Bar will be up and running from midday and I can't see any reason that away supporters won't be allowed in - maybe suggest not wearing colours just in case though

Thanks for the replies, I've drank in the Queens Head on our last visit to the Withdean so I think it's the 1st half in there and then the 13.40 to Falmer for hopefuly the last half hour or so in the ground. Looking forward to it already.

The only two pubs in Lewes with Sky Sports are the Elephant and Castle and the Brewers Arms. It would be the same story as Brighton though in that you would be cutting it very fine to walk 10 minutes to station and get a train and then get to the ground in time for kick off. Also, I'm not sure if Lewes is really cut out for a lot of away fans on match days, it will be interesting to see what happens if a lot of away fans do come via Lewes station.

I am not sure how it will be policed, but I have been told that the hikers will have a strict no away supporters policy, on advice from police apparently.

On the club site it states that it is only open to Albion fans with a match ticket. So that may not work out.
