Last Saturday, me and Mrs Earle went down to Brighton and St Georges Church at about 5.00 pm to see if we could pick up a couple of tickets to see Brian and Kerry after reading about the gig in The Argus the night before. After hearing Brighton go 3-2 up at Wolves, I wandered over to the door to see Brian chatting, signing autographs and having pictures taken. Tickets were indeed on sale at the door. Went back to Mrs Earle only to find Albion drew after all. So decided to grab a bite in The Bristol and splash the cash on two tickets for the gig.

What a gig. It was in aid of the Born Free Foundation based in Horsham. They set up the stage like a camp fire by using candles of various sizes and presented an acoustic set of assorted covers and show numbers then a growing number of Queen songs. After playing a beautiful version of Love of My Life Brian asked what the acoustics were like in the church. We got the message and started to stamp and clap the rhythm of We will Rock You. Brian strapped on his Red Special and we were away. We are the Champions and closing with Crazy Little Thing called Love.

What a brilliant gig. Great, sensitive vocals from Kerry and from my view in the balcony, my personal Brian May guitar masterclass. :guitar:

Anyone else go?
