The NSC time wasting police would have gone into meltdown if that had been a Brighton game. Martinez was OUTSTANDING in his time wasting. By the end of the game he was catching crosses and not releasing the ball for 30 seconds. Multiple times.
Argentina certainly made the most of any Brazilian tackle. Unfortunately Brazil made it difficult for the ref by also agriculturally chopping down the Argentines at regular intervals so it couldn't have been easy to know which were the fouls and which were Argentina taking the piss.

What is funny is that the Conmebol qualifiers are designed so that it is virtually inpossible for Brazil and Argentina NOT to go through as the top 6 out of the 10 teams in the league go through automatically and 7th place goes into a play off. Yet Brazil currently sit 6th, behind Ecuador and Venezuela and just 2 points ahead of 7th and 8th place Paraguay and Chile.
I think players from both teams had families in the stands.
Brazil captain Marquinhos, who could be seen interacting with Messi and the Argentinian players as they tried to calm the situation, shared the concerns.
"We were worried about the families, women and children, that we were seeing in panic up there in the stands," Marquinhos told reporters.
"Down on the pitch it was hard for us to understand what was going on, it was a very scary situation."
Nothing new in Brazil though. Two weeks ago Fluminense ultras attacked Boca fans in Copacabana before Copa Libertadores final.
