I’m surprised he didn’t start tbh. Why play a defender as a winger when you have an in form winger on the bench?
More defensively reliable than Adingra and decent enough in attack to utilize as a winger (as he has been many times before in his career). Agree though that Adingra should have come on instead of Gruda.

How ironic that you are attacking me behind the comfort of your keyboard 🤣
My post was about the excellent recovery tackle made by Gruda that contributed to our opportunity to extend our lead and win the game - unfortunately it didn’t work out because of Wieffer’s inability to pick out one of four players - apologies for having an opinion- perhaps my description of curly haired Dutch twat was a little harsh as being Dutch and having curly hair shouldn’t affect your ability to make a good pass ❤️
Emotions polarize when one of ours makes a consequential mistake. I too winced at your post, albeit I understand it (but disagree with it).

Thought he did really well, some sublime touches.

Needs to work on his defensive duties, particularly tracking, but probably our best player on the night IMO.
Agreed, got a really good turn of pace over short distances too. Needs to focus on adapting to the physicality of PL, and I'd suggest that working with Georginio might be a plan on that front.

A very promising full debut against a strong team. He arguably did enough to warrant a start on Saturday but I’d understand if Hurzeler puts Kadioglu on the right again for more defensive solidity.

He was good. Good enough really to embarrass Adingra and Enciso a bit, who should be streets ahead.
Gruda is only 4 months younger than Enciso, and last season played 1,650 minutes in the Bundesliga across 28 matches, including 19 starts.

Enciso played 472 minutes in 12 PL matches, including 5 starts.

Encouraging performance:

14/20 passes completed (70%)
1 key pass
3/3 long balls completed
1/3 crosses completed
11/14 ground duels won (78.5%)
4/6 dribbles completed (66.6%)
Was fouled - 3 times
4 tackles

Tighten up his passing and you are looking at a very complete all round game.

I was very impressed by him. I thought he was our most dangerous player the whole night and he was up against one of the best left backs in the country. I'm very excited about his potential and I'd like to see him play a bigger part in the first team in the coming weeks

Poor Adingra. All he did was score, forced their keeper into a worldie save from a great header, set up Lamptey for a one on one (which he should have scored) AND rank as WhoScored's MOTM. I don't think he needs to be embarrassed

I somewhat agree but it was a really funny Adingra performance. He was both the Adingra of old (at his best as you say) and the Adingra who has struggled to win a first team place this season. He at times, looked a world beater, and at times looked like he hadn't played football for a couple of years. Just rustiness I'm sure.

I think you could absolutely say the same thing about Lamptey last night. Looked electric at times, especially going forward, and like he can play the right-wing-back position Hurzeler wants to a really effective standard. He also made three calamitous mistakes that I think any professional footballer would be embarrassed about.

Fair enough. Probably was a bit harsh. Just don't think he's causing anything like the amount of chaos we know he can, which is not far off Mitoma's level when he is at his best. Did a lot of running into blind alleys.

The excellent touch and simple pass for Lamptey was probably his best moment. Decent header, and the goal was a tap-in. As for WhoScored ratings... WhoGivesaF....

We won’t loan out an£25m player.
Why not, if we need him to get game time to get u to speed which he might not get at once with the Albion? If we want to loan him, we can, regardless of how much we paid fir him. We paid £15M plus for Osman, and he's currently playing on loan at Feyenoord.
