Bow you head for The Gills

Bow your head for The Gills

Can I be the first on here to offer my sincere condolences to The Gills on their sad demise.

Those of us in the East of the region who have to put up with them always being first on Meridian reports look forward to next season when we retain our rightful place ahead of them.

Enjoy next season Gillingham in League One with those lovely stands that we paid for when tenants.

Goodbye and godbless!

Living and working in Kent, I know several Gills fans. Some of them get quite upset whenI suggest that they're doomed, not that I'd rub it in or anything!

A bit premature. I still reckon the Gills will stay up... they've got a manager who knows what he's doing and what it takes to stay up.

The problem for the Gills is that your final statement could be said of all of the other clubs near the bottom - Coventry, Plymouth, Cardiff and us.

And both Cardiff and Coventry have games in hand over the Gills too; although Coventry's is against Wigan tonight!

Ternant has made them relatively hard to beat but they are not winning games. With Wigan as their next game and no points probably they will have only 11 games to save themselves.

They have got to go to Leeds, Preston, QPR and Derby yet so little or no joy there and with home games against Ipswich, Burnley and Crewe they will do well to win more than 4 more games.

IMHO we only need 3 more points to survive.

Goodbye Pikies.

I don't want to start crowing about someone going down when it's still February BUT...

...Stan Ternant said 2 weeks ago that the pikies needed to get 7 wins from their last 14 games. If that still holds true then they need 7 wins from 12 games now. At the most I can see them getting 5 wins from their remaining fixtures and that would put them on 46 points. And that's being generous.

We only need 2 more wins from 12 games to get to 47 points.

The game really does look up for them.
