Pokesdown stn is 15 mins from ground and Bournemouth stn is about 20/25 mins walk... Dolphin is a shitehole... depending on time of arrival you're best going into town to drink... Not sure the 2 local pubs (Queens Pk and Portman) are best for away fans...

On old christchurch road you've got loads of bars pubs - O'Neils, Littern Tree, Sherbert, DNA, Walkabout, Yates, Sharkeys pool bar, Bar me - ON the main slope into town Daisy oBriens, Mary Shelly ( wetherspoons) just off this road. Then down in the bottom of town Moon in the square, Brass house on Overcliff drive. No shortgae for a few pints then jump in ataxi.

Good thing im meeting you then.:lolol:

Deffo mate, I'll also get you a couple of cans just in case you can't get served :lolol:

I would plead to everyone avoid Boscombe like the plague for pubs. Probably one of the grimmest, most miserable places in the country.

Was thinking of this one or the Sir Percy Florence Shelley in Christchurch Road - never been to either so any recommendations?

Last time I went to Bournemouth we went to The Queens Park but I gather that it is home fans only now?

Hi All,

Bournemouth fan in peace
If you want a Wetherspoon I would recommend staying clear of Sir Percy Florence (which is in Boscombe) and go to the Wetherspoons in Bournemouth Town Centre (Moon in the Square or The Mary Shelley). Sir Percy is not very away friendly on a matchday.

Like previous posts have said, there are stacks of pubs/bars in Bournemouth town centre which is only a short bus/taxi journey to the ground £5/6 in a taxi max.

Should be a great game - hopefully both teams will be right on their game. Looking forward to seeing a decent away following too.

Up The Cherries.

Will avoid the Sir Percy then. Want something near the ground - what's The Portman like for away fans?

The Portman is an ok pub... not the best if you want packed crowds and loud singing etc, as its just not that type of pub, but you can get a decent pint in there and is only 5 mins across the park form DC.

I dont know about away fans but as I said, it isnt 'that' type of pub so you should be ok... They will soon tell you if you're not allowed, and in a polite fashion, not via beer bottle on head

If not then 5 mins up the street is cafe boscanova as has been mentioned higher up...
