Let's appoint a manager on how they do when they're caretaker...
Like Wood...
Like Hinsh...
I am not saying Booker should be ignored because of them, but giving him xxx games to prove himself only makes the players know they can piss about after they've got him the job.
WE OBVIOUSLY HAVE A SQUAD THAT CAN WIN AND GET PROMOTED. WE NEED A MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE AND EXPERIENCE OF MANAGING IN DIV 1. AND A MANAGER WITH ESTABLISHED CONTACTS AND WHO IS RESPECTED BY PLAYERS. THIS IS HOW ADAMS AND COPPELL HAVE BROUGHT IN PLAYERS, WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE NOT CONSIDERED OUR CLUB....AT THE PRESENT TIME.
Will probably get slaughterd for posting my views due to my low post count...but here goes...
consider this......Bob is renowned for getting on well with the players and is well rspected by them all for amongst other things, his wit and personality.....GOOD attributes for an asistant manager, as he can sit between the manager and the boys when things need saying/changing
Most Good, succesful Manager ( Adams, Coppell, Ferguson, Moyes to name a few) get respect from the players for far different reasons...they tend to take a far more stand off approach to the job at hand and tend to leave the morale issues in the hands of their more than capable assistants. ( Corky does such a role with Adams, but was SHIT at the main job when given it)
My personal view is that Bob Booker is Fantastic and Needed in the role he has, and I for one would prefer it if Uncle Dick can find someone to play Mister Nasty above him.
The well renowned team spirit and motivation within the present squad has an awfull lot to with Bob doing HIS job properly....and I would like to see it remain that way......
