  • Its VILE. I'd rather eat a bowl of my own toenails than go anywhere near the stuff.

I am currently ploughing my way through a bowl of Asda's Bombay Mix, and I have to say, am thrilled at it's fulsome flavour. Every nut is bursting with asian spice, every crusty yellow bit is a delightful assault on the senses, every lentil a crunchy treat. A light sheen of perspiration has covered the bridge of my nose and cheeks, as the brutal biriyani spices, coriander, chana dahl and E101 / E621 colourings and preservatives all congeal within their chilli powder club, to gang up on my tastebuds and respiratory system.

I won't eat the stuff in Indian restaurants, as people are always dipping their pissy fingers in it, but I throughly recommend the Asda bagged variety. What is NSC's verdict ?

Love the stuff.

I had a job once, bagging the stuff. A huge bag of it gets emptied onto a conveyor belt, and a few of you sit picking out the things that shouldn't be in it as it goes past, before the parcelling up into small bags. You don't wanna know what we removed. It's never stopped me eating it, mind.

Take it or leave it - usually when in an Indian Restaurant

Can I hazard a guess...?

Dead flies ?
Old fillings ?
Prawns eyes ?
Stillborn rodents ?

Ah well, it all adds to the flavour. Most food has probably been abused in an unsavoury manner at some point before we get to eat it. I used to work on the deli counter at Co-op, and boy, what we'd get up to with the salami sausage and taramasalata during our breaks...

Mainly dead beetles. Quite a few flies, though, too. And mouse/rat/some kind of rodent droppings. I once picked something out which I wasn't sure at all what it could have been. It LOOKED like something dead & congealed, but I couldn't swear it was.

Don't worry about telling me what's in strawberry yoghurt. I NEVER eat flavoured yoghurts - I've never quite understood the point of them.
