There was a bomb scare where I worked in Dorking a couple of years back, the police were called and everything. What happened was that a shadowy man all dressed in black was spotted on CCTV taking a bag into the underground carpark, and then walking out without it. Everyone was really concerned that we might be about to be blown up, until one of our developers, a black man all dressed in black, returned from lunch and asked what was going on with the police and everthing. Yes it was him, all he'd done was drop a bag off in his car - the receptionist hadn't recognised him.

" Legal & General staff all evacuated and gone done the pub ". No change then from when I worked there 15 years ago !.

Paul Sullivan - Albion legendery fan is no doubt coordinating operations at The Palmeira !.

We once had a bomb scare at the office I worked at in Lewes. The police turned up with a suspect package, took it to the middle of the playing field outside the office, invited the bomb disposal squad along, and a controlled explosion was arranged.

We all had to STAY IN THE OFFICE. No-one was allowed to wander off for the traditional afternoon trip to Tesco's cake counter.

Far from marvellous scenes.

A similar incident with the police happened to me recently - but happily not bomb-related. We had a power cut in our office at 4.30. So we went to the local pub after it was apparent the power was not coming back on. Five minutes into the first pint two police officers came in and said "STAY IN THE PUB. DO NOT COME BACK ONTO THE PAVEMENT UNTIL WE TELL YOU AS THERE IS A GAS LEAK NEARBY"

Of course, as law obiding people we thought "OK officer, whatever you say" and happily obeyed the instructions given to us by the guardians of law and order...

This really happened and was not one of my booze induced dreams, honest.

MARVELLOUS DRINKING SCENES!

Few years back, a PR company sent the magazine I was working for some fake sticks of dynamite (complete with alarm clock) as a computer game plug. The mag was on alert after receiving death threats from various muslim groups, so we repackaged the dynamite, labelled it "Die Infidel Scum" and stuck it on the publisher's desk. Cue major evacuation of the building. He eventually saw the funny side and no one got sacked.
