According to a mate of mine, today's Daily Express had a story that Cloughie tried to sign Bobby Moore for Brighton.

As the Express is not a paper I'd read, I missed this particular gem. Judging by the fact that no-one has posted this, I guess no-one else reads the Express either.

Anyone know the truth about this story? Perhaps he signed Andy Rollings after the Moore deal fell through. Moore? Rollings? Must have been a tough call.

no i read the Daily Mail ever since Edgar converted me from the Daily Sport far more interesting read still THe Express is not a bad sunstitute and Bobby Moore was an excellent defender world class without any question of doubt. Whereas Cullip is world sh1te at defending. The two are like chalk and cheese.

I think its true but then Cloughie was one for flying kites when talking to journos.

and as Moore went to Fulham shorty afterwards it can't have been too fanciful.......
