Im happy as a pig in shit over our newest signing, it got me thi king of the hype when those mugs from selhurst bagged davids.

Albeit he was a lot older, they both have flair backgrounds, but davids was shithouse for the scummers.

Be interesting to see the difference when our Gus spots some proper talent as to what he gets out of beetheeentay!

Davids was a 'Bums on seats' signing to get people through the gates, a bit like Robbie Savage for us, but on a grander scale. Vicente is a statement of intent.

Vicente has only just turned 30, got 6/7 years left in him still and he's looking to help take the club to the premier league and Poyet seems to get the best out of players so it'll be very interesting to see how Vicente performs.

So how old was Davids when he signed for Palace, and exactly what did he do there?

Time for wiki - he was 37 when he signed, after 2 years out. 15 appearances, 2 goals. How did he do in those 15 games? Played for 2 months, started 7 games, and left with Palace at the bottom of the league. Happy days.

Didn't they play him at left back?? Got a feeling they did, which obviously wouldn't of helped the situation! Can't see Gus playing Vicente out if position.

Sure I remember agent davids playing a blinding back pass straight to an opposition striker in acres of space for a tap in or it went straight in his own net, not sure which but it was one of them I'm sure
